Offshift November Community Call & PriFi AMA Recap

In November’s community call, we covered some questions from the community about the present and future of Offshift. We also had a small code demo to demonstrate how far we’ve come.

In this month’s update, we discussed what steps the team has taken to get the word out to others in the Web3, privacy, and DeFi communities, and the upcoming events Offshift will be attending. We also had questions that ranged from simple explanations of how zkAssets work to more complex questions concerning the future of the project’s development.

Offshift Dev Update, Mid-October 2021: Schnorr's Multi-Signature Algorithm

Offshift is working with Zokyo to develop the platform that will finally bring private finance, or PriFi, live.

Here’s a progress update for mid-October, 2021.

Zokyo continues to work on the cryptography for Offshift’s platform , specifically the implementation of Schnorr’s multi-signature algorithm. This protocol enables a group of signers to produce a short, joint signature on a common message, thus solving security, privacy, and efficiency problems in blockchain.

Synthetics: The Future of the PriFi Revolution

In our last Offshift blog, Crypto, PriFi , and the Fight Against Surveillance Capitalism , we outlined our perspective on the journey of privacy in the internet age, and its (often lackluster) evolution in crypto and Web3. From Facebook to Google, many people still remain unaware of the extent to which our data and identities are tracked and commoditized in the digital domain. While many turn to blockchain and DeFi applications to evade the corporations that mine and profit from our data, privacy only protects users if it’s properly augmented in established internet communities. Offshift is a cryptocurrency project with privacy coded into every aspect of what we do, from our zkAssets to our anonymous team.

What Decentralization Is, What It's Not, and Why It Matters

It’s George again, with the latest on everything you need to know about decentralization - and, more importantly, the many imposters that often go by its name.

Right now, there are many heated debates on decentralization, and I’d like to take a moment to provide some clarity to all of the people following Offshift and my previous blog posts. All of you are deserving (and capable) of possessing the necessary knowledge to understand who is giving you the facts and who is trying to fool you for the purposes of furthering their own personal agendas.
